Hey Campers,
We hope you’re getting as excited as we are for Camp this year!
As you know, our aim is to continually improve Camp for guests with additional accessibility needs, and we would like to update you on the updates we have made since last year.
Although this year’s event hasn’t yet begun, we are already thinking of 2023. As such, we have created this Facebook Group in order to let you know what improvements we have made since last year, and to invite you to share your feedback and additional recommendations during this year’s event.
New for 2022;
- A separate entrance lane for guests with accessibility needs will be in place
- We will be operating a buggy shuttle service to help with movement around Camp, particularly during arrivals and travelling between areas of Camp. This will be available for you at entry, and will be operating a regular shuttle service between Accessible and Boutique Camping and key areas throughout Camp. You will be provided with a timetable and stop locations when you arrive.
- We have improved pathways throughout the site
- We are now able to offer medicine storage whilst at Camp. The team at the Medical Tent will look after and correctly store your medicine.
- We are trialling a Drop-in activity fast track lane for guests with accessibility needs, meaning a reduction in potential queueing time
FACILITIES
Accessible facilities will be marked on the site map which you will receive when you arrive. You will need your RADAR key to access these. Should you have any issues or questions whilst at Camp, please do speak to a member of the team or visit the information point, also marked on your map.
CAMPING
Accessible Camping can be reached via the Accessible Camping entrance, leading from the Accessible Car Park. Show your blue badge along with your parking pass upon arrival and the team will direct you.
THE RETREAT
For those needing a moment of calm in a relaxing space away from aural and visual stimulation, we have The Retreat. This year at Camp Wildfire, The Retreat is being supported by Blink Mental Health, and they will have trained counsellors available for you to talk with at no cost.
Thank you to everyone who provided recommendations to us over the last 12 months. We are very excited to see you all this year, and thank you for your help in our mission to continually improve Camp!

Camp Wildfire is held on a private woodland estate- much of the ground is flat and grassy, but the route from the campsite to the centre camp can get quite muddy- especially if the weather in the run up to the festival is quite wet, if it gets very muddy- mobility can become quite tricky in a wheelchair and there are no metal trackways or other routes into the main area.
We will be updating our website to include a map of the ground types across the site, as well as the distances to and from specific points shortly.
We are currently working on updating our website to include accessibility information for each activity and hope to have this information available very shortly.
The campsite has wheelchair accessible unisex toilets, showers and fresh water points. These facilities are accessed using a radar key, which is held by the medical team who are located next to the campsite.
Security and the medical team are on hand 24/7 throughout the weekend, if you require any assistance.
You are welcome to bring your own food to cook in the designated campsite cooking area, if required.
Otherwise, we work with the UK's most renowned and delicious street food traders and always ensure we offer a large variety of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and nut free options.
A main meal usually costs between £5 and £10, with snacks available for less.
We understand that large events with lots of people can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.
A quiet area can be found at The Retreat. This area is provided by Blink- a mental health charity, who also offer quiet activities like colouring and mindfulness. Blink also offer free therapy sessions with qualified therapists. Head down to The Retreat if you'd like to book a session- or just need some quiet time.
Our medical team can safely store and refrigerate medication.
Please hand this to them on arrival on site and ensure it is in a sealed container with your name clearly labelled on.
Assistance dogs are very welcome to attend. Please contact us to discuss this in advance at office@campwildfire.co.uk.
Unfortunately, we are not able to allow any other pets on site.
